Include what you need
Item synchronization
With our integration it's only necessary to maintain item master data in BC. All relevant fields will automatically be exported to the external WMS when an item is created or updated. No more unnecessary work!
Purchase flow
Instruction out from BC based on "Purchase Order" or "Inventory Put-away". Results back with relevant information. If required, functionality for updating order instruction out from BC can be added.
Sales flow
Instruction out from BC based on "Sales Order" or "Inventory Pick". Results back with package tracking and other relevant information. If required, functionality for updating order can be added.
Transfer order
Working with different locations in BC and one or both are handled in an external WMS. Our integration will create the relevant order(s). Result back to BC with relevant information.
Assembly order
"To-stock" or "To-order"? No problem! With "To-stock" we export the entire order from BC and post it based on the result. With "To-order" we export the BOM with the item synch and the sales flow handles the rest.
Purchase return flow
Instructions out from BC based on "Purchase return order" will be created as a pick order in the external WMS. Result back to BC with relevant information. Order is updated and posted automatically.
Sales return flow
Companies working with B2B often want the process to start in BC and those working with B2C want it to start in the external WMS. We support processes in both directions. One by one or combined.
Inventory adjustment
Adjustments of quantity in inventory must be reported back to BC and posted. With or without reason codes? Fully automated or manually processed? We make sure the process follows your requirements.
Reconcile inventory
Detect poor manual processes and/or use it to post deviations in BC. On your preferred schedule, we ask for all the inventory in the external WMS, compare and provide the results to you in BC and in an e-mail.
Item tracking
Batch or serial tracking is not a problem. The integration supports both in all the processes where you require it. Add it in BC as instructions to the WMS or get the information back in the results.
Text lines
Do you require text lines from BC to be exported to your external WMS? There are several ways to work with this in BC. Based on the needs and requirements, we set up the best suitable solution for you.
Different locations
Some warehouse management systems support separating inventory based on different statuses. Usually, this is handled by using different locations matching in BC. We support this in all our processes too.

Your digital safety net
Our Cloud Integration Platform (CIP) keeps your Business Central data safe and makes sure that your warehouse systems receive the correct information at the right time.
Messages flow smoothly through the cloud and are monitored 24/7. If something goes wrong, you'll find out immediately. If everything's fine, you don't have to worry about it.
When you want insight, our portal provides it all: every message, every transaction, and every timestamp.
Built on Microsoft Azure in Northern Europe and Australia, the platform provides the reliability that your business needs.
Implementation process from A to Z
Our proven process makes sure that the implementation runs smoothly and gives you the confidence to take ownership by the end of the project.
Analysis & design phase
We define scope, participants, and objectives, including a design workshop for process mapping.

Questions & Answers
What is WMS?
WMS stands for Warehouse Management System and is a general name for software systems used to manage and optimize the processes and tasks required for a modern warehouse operation.
What is 3PL?
3PL, or TPL, stands for Third-party Logistics and means a company that manages some, or all, logistics and warehouse services for another business.
Why work with an external WMS?
The reason that companies use external WMS is usually either that their ERP cannot provide the necessary functionality, or that they have chosen to outsource their warehouse management to a 3PL.
How does BC communicate with the warehouse management system?
All communication is done via Golden EDI’s integration platform called Cloud Integration Platform (CIP). BC communicates with CIP in a fixed and easy to read format. CIP converts and delivers the message according to the decided format and required technique. Messages to BC is more or less handled in the opposite way.
What happens if communication to the WMS is down?
The integration is based on a shared view of ownership of a message. If the receiving party, at any stage of the integration, cannot receive a message it retains ownership until it can be delivered. This goes in both directions.
Golden EDI CIP has functionality to retry delivering a message up to 20 times.
What happens if something can’t be posted in BC?
An email will then be sent with details about which message was stopped and, if possible, also information about the error message.
How does Golden EDI work with implementations?
After common agreement about what processes the integration shall support the next step is the design workshop. In this we discuss the necessary details for each process. Then we continue with different types of tests. Some are done by Golden EDI, but most important are those focusing on the individual requirements and are done by the customer together with people working in the Warehouse management systems. Finaly, we have go-live followed by hyper-care and handover to the support functionality.
