Background

In need to streamline internal processes and better integrate cross-border operations

Embreis had a need to improve the efficiency of their operations between their internal branches and were facing challenges when it came to managing transactions with its Norwegian sales subsidiary. To solve this problem, Embreis decided to implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to streamline their internal processes and better integrate their cross-border operations.

Leaving a manual era behind

Before the transition, Embreis struggled with heavy, manual workflows when dealing with its Norwegian operations. Manually matching purchase orders with sales orders and handling internal trade flows were time-consuming administrative tasks.

Golden EDI’s Intercompany Hub saves the day

To overcome these challenges, Embreis teamed up with Golden EDI. This was based on the success of a previous project in which Golden EDI had integrated a e-invoicing solution. They worked closely with consultants from Golden EDI to implement their Intercompany Hub solution within Business Central. This included:

Automation of internal trade flows

Minimize manual processes, reduce errors, and increase efficiency with seamless management of internal trade between Embreis AB in Sweden and Embreis AS in Norway.

Synchronization of orders

The system was designed to synchronize orders between the two countries, ensuring that purchase orders from Norway can be easily matched with the corresponding sales orders in Sweden.

Customs processes

Golden EDI customized the solution to meet Embreis’s specific needs, including the handling of special discounts to comply with customs regulations.

Golden EDI’s integration – a game-changer for Embreis

Golden EDI’s solution has improved Embries workflow significantly. Processes that had been carried out manually, such as order fulfillment and internal trade between the Swedish and Norwegian branches, were automated. This change allowed the company to focus on other valuable activities rather than administrative tasks.

With all tasks handled efficiently in the automated flow, Embreis no longer needed to "chase" orders or manually intervene in routine processes.

Next in line is improving the flow of returned orders and item synchronization between countries, which will further improve accuracy and efficiency in managing personalized orthopedic products.
